Rebecca Bennett is a former Navy helicopter pilot running for Congress to try to flip New Jersey’s 7th congressional district. She has always been guided by service, which inspired her to join the Navy and Air National Guard. In the Navy, she was a helicopter pilot and experimental test pilot; she also held rank as an Officer in the Air National Guard. Following her service, she became a business leader in healthcare and has worked for Johnson & Johnson, Midi Health, and Noom. She most recently worked at Oshi Health, as a Vice President of Strategic Partnerships and Network Operations. She is now running for Congress because she understands the challenge of balancing work and family while navigating the rising cost of living, and she wants to help build a better future for all the constituents of NJ-07.

New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District is based in the northern central part of the state and includes parts of all of Hunterdon and Warren Counties. Ahead of the 2022 race, this district changed only slightly under the redistricting process. This district is currently held by GOP Rep. Thomas Kean Jr. Under the old district lines, in 2020, President Biden won the district by 10.6 points, and it was redrawn into a seat that Biden would have only won by 4.5 points in 2022. However, President Donald Trump won this district in 2024 by just over one point under the new lines. This district has a strong middle-class presence, alongside growing immigrant, young professional, and multi-generational family communities. In 2024, the race for NJ-07 saw nearly $15 million in outside spending, with Democratic candidate Working Families Executive Director Sue Altman raising $6.1 million and Rep. Kean raising $5.9 million. In 2026, Rebecca Bennett is challenging incumbent Rep. Kean Jr, and the DCCC has included her in it’ Red to Blue program. V4P PAC has not yet endorsed in this race.
