Jamee Decio

District: IN-02
Cook Political Ranking: Solid R
Performance Voter Index: R+13
Jamee Decio is a former attorney and screenwriter, running for Indiana’s 2nd Congressional District. Decio grew up in Northern Indiana in a home that welcomed everyone. Her parents hosted fundraisers for Democrats and Republicans alike, emphasizing character, community service, faith, and charity over party lines. Decio was among the first 325 women admitted to the University of Notre Dame. After graduating, she worked in Washington, D.C., as a legislative aide for the House Banking Subcommittee on Consumer Affairs, then returned to Notre Dame for law school. After law school, she began advocating for troubled youth and the mentally ill and later became an Elkhart County deputy and opened a private law practice focused on pro bono cases. While handling inmate appeals for the state of Indiana, Decio successfully argued for the release of an individual held longer than legally allowed. Her career ended however, after a county prosecutor pursued a case she believed was unethical, in which Decio refused to proceed and was fired. She regards that dismissal as a badge of honor. Following this, she entered the creative industry as a screenwriter and isa proud member of the Writers Guild of America. She is running to flip Indiana’s 2nd blue because she believes the constituents in her district deserve someone who will advocate for democracy and the people’s needs, not the President’s.

Indiana’s 2nd Congressional District is based in the northern part of the state, and includes the cities of South Bend and Elkhart. Ahead of the 2022 race, this district barely changed under the redistricting process. IN-02 is currently held by GOP Rep. Rudy Yakym. Under the old district lines, in 2020, President Trump won the district by 20 points; in 2024, President Donald Trump won this district by over 25 points under the new lines. In 2024, the race for IN-02 saw virtually no outside spending. V4P PAC has not yet endorsed in this race.
