Rep. Susan Wild

PA-07

Partisan Voter Index (PVI): EVEN

Lean Republican

Wild has been the U.S House Representative for Pennsylvania’s 7th congressional district since 2019. Prior to Congress, Wild was the Solicitor of Allentown, Pennsylvania, from 2015 to 2017.

Rep. Wild faces a tough fight to maintain her seat. Under the new boundaries, the state’s 7th congressional district includes the Republican-leaning Carbon County, which Trump won with 65% of the vote. In 2020 President Biden won the district by 4.9 points. Under the new district lines, President Biden would have won the seat by only 0.6 points. Wild will face Republican challenger Lisa Scheller, who Wild defeated in 2020 by 4 points. That is also the margin that President Joe Biden defeated former President Donald Trump in the district. But with new district lines coupled with President Biden’s low approval rating, Scheller has an easier path to flip this seat from blue to red. In the third quarter of 2022, Wild raised $1.7 million and has around $1.5 million in cash on hand, significantly more than Scheller, who raised $775,00 in the third quarter and has nearly $544,00 cash on hand.
