WA-08

Partisan Voter Index (PVI): D+1

Democratic Toss Up

Schrier has been the U.S House Representative for Washington’s 8th congressional district since 2019. Prior to Congress, Schrier was a practicing pediatrician. She is the first pediatrician in to serve in Congress.

Redistricting has made Washington’s 8th congressional district, a perennial swing district, marginally bluer. In 2020, Rep. Schrier was elected by 3.6 points, and President Biden won the district by 6.7 points. Under the new district lines, President Biden would have won the seat by 6.9 points. The district remains a swing district, making this a competitive seat for Rep. Schrier to hold in the midterms. The GOP primary was on August 2, and manufacturing business owner, Matt Larkin (R), secured the Republican nomination. In the third quarter of 2022, Schrier raised nearly $2 million and has $2.3 million cash on hand while Larkin raised only $2 million and has $2.3 cash on hand.
