Titus has been the U.S House Representative for Nevada’s 1st congressional district since 2013. She also served as the U.S. Representative for Nevada’s 3rd congressional district from 2009 to 2011. Prior to Congress, Titus served in the Nevada State Senate from 1988 to 2008. During that time Titus was the Senate Majority Leader from 1993 to 2008. Titus was also a Professor of Political Science for 34 years at the University of Las Vegas.

Under the new congressional map, Nevada’s 1st congressional district is less blue. The new map shifts Democratic voters out of the district. Now, the district’s registered Democratic voters only hold a small margin over registered Republican voters. In 2020, Rep. Titus was reelected by 6.6 points, and President Biden won the district by 25.6 points. Under the new district lines, President Biden would have won the seat by 8.7 points. The GOP challenger in this race is retired Army colonel and financial planner Mark Robertson. In the third quarter of 2022, Titus raised $800,000 and has $2.6 million in cash on hand, significantly more than Robertson, who raised $347,537 and has $293,207 cash on hand.
